WHEN MAGAZINES LOOSE THEIR MIND : Glamour Magazine Sep 2015

Please ignore the shoddy photos!!! It was all I had! However, I was on my lunch break yesterday with the new copy of Glamour UK. I really loved their androgynous photoshoot......for a while.

I have been having dreams about an outfit like the above suit. I love it. It's YSL smoking, taking charge, women power fantastic. It is also genuine YSL as well. I love the fantasy of looking at these things. I really do. However it was deeply annoying to almost have my credit card in one hand and looking at the below information and going, oh, no.
THE TIE IS £220. THE TIE.
I cannot understand how you can justify an outfit that expensive. Possibly because at the moment I have enough money for pasta sauce and nothing else today!!! However, I am really into the idea of this outfit. I do love a good Hedi Slimane outfit inspiration but, Glamour, really?

If I could just point out that Glamour is one  of the cheaper monthly magazines on the stand. Vogue is about £3-4 and so is ELLE. Glamour is something I buy when travelling to Ireland because its cheap, relatively inoffensive, provides a quick laugh and I can donate it to others without feeling bad at the cost. So if Glamour readers are buying Glamour because its cheap - why are the photoshoots coming in at so expensive???
I've done the math for you because I'm nice like that. The total is about £4,440. Which is insane. No one reading Glamour has that sort of cash.
Interestingly during the recession, Vogue introduced cheaper clothing pages which had previously been a feature but had dropped in the years pre recession. I don't know why I find the suggestion of a 4,440 outfit in Vogue more acceptable then one in Glamour. Possibly because I expect it from Vogue. I go in knowing its going to be a show of disgusting wealth which makes me feel bad about being poor.
 Then glamour freaked out.

I've spoken before about the Glamour love of adding a 'quirky touch' to a shoot. So something that was supposed to be an edgy shoots where a woman is quite male became a disappointing display as Glamour couldn't handle it and added a bow.
This girl (the model) is sitting, standing, leaning like a man in most of the shots, she looks aggressive, challenging and hot as hell while doing it. Then they added a bow.
The bow is overkill, destroyed a hot look and doesn't fit.

I didn't even bother looking at the price of the bows.
